Once upon a time… In a land bordered by the Sea, a Baron and Baroness stood upon the hillside and looked out over the vastness of the Ocean. She laid her head upon his chest; he rested his cheek upon her head. And there the twain stood for several small moments. “It is time, my Lord,” the Baroness spoke softly, “to lay our heads down and rest. We have worked diligently these past years, and the Crown and populace are pleased.”
“I agree, my Lady,” the Baron stated. “To that end, we must find suitable replacements to fulfill our duties to the Crown and the people.”
And thus, word went throughout the land of Lyondemere that Baron Conchobhar mac Caionaoith and Baroness Seraphina Arlotto sought heirs to their thrones. Several answered the call; Lady Arwen McBaird and William of Lyondemere were chosen.
…and they lived happily ever after…
Please join us in celebration of the longevity of our barony and the investiture of Reeve William and Reevess Arwen as our new Baron and Baroness! We will be holding our combat championships in armored combat (standard double-elim) and rapier combat (modified Swiss 5 tournament) and our LyonBard competition. More details on the competitions will be coming soon. There will be archery, an arts and sciences demos, a revel, and a Feast! Celebrate this Enchanted moment in time at North High School, in Torrance, on Saturday, June 27, 2020. The site opens at 8 AM and is a dry site. Revel will begin immediately following closing court. The Feast, created and executed by Don Avenel Kellough, will be served around 6 PM. If you’re able, please stay to help clean up! The site closes at 10 PM, sharp!
Event Information
Event Site: North High School, 3620 W. 182nd St., Torrance, CA 90504
Site Fees: $15 per adult (with a $5 SCA Member discount). Youth 17 and under are guests of the Barony. Please make checks payable to “SCA, Inc. Barony of Lyondemere.” Feast will be $15 per person. Menu for Feast will be available closer to the event.

- 8:00 AM – Site opens for set up
- 9:00 AM – Lists and Gate open
- 10:00 AM – Opening Court
- 15-30 minutes after Court – Lists Close
- 1:00 PM – Populace Lunch
- 6:00 PM – Tourney site closes and Feast Hall opens
- 10:00 PM – Feast site closes
