Lyondemere Anniversary
Saturday, July 19, 2008
The Barony of Lyondemere invites all good Gentles to join us on Saturday, July 19, 2008
to help us celebrate the 30th Anniversary of our fair Barony. As this is the
thirtieth year, the theme will be pearls and the best use of such in some creative
fashion. So put on your thinking caps and come bedecked in your sea-spawned finery.
For those who do not fight, there will be various games and diversions throughout
the day. Then, later in the evening, there will be a feast
cooked by Lady Elisheva, dancing at the dessert revel accompanied by the Unusual Consort,
and hall games by the Inn of the Crimson Spade. Do come enjoy the fighting, fun,
feasting, and revelry in the barony by the sea.
Let the 30th Anniversary of the Barony of Lyondemere be celebrated with Pearls!
For this special occasion, her Excellency Lyondemere wishes all artisans to take
inspiration from this ocean gem and display the results at the anniversary
celebration this summer. Her Excellency will award a prize for the entry that
pleases her most. (Brief documentation is encouraged, but not required.)
Champion Lists
The Baronial champions of Lyondemere will have special duties throughout
the year. The Champions are expected to stand with their Excellencies'
court at Lyondemere events and represent Lyondemere to their fighting
community. Championship list participants must have a consort to enter.
Champions and consorts are invited to be guests of the Baron and Baroness
at the evening's feast. If you have questions or concerns about the duties
and responsibilites of the baronial champions please contact the Baron
baron lyondemere.org
or Baroness baroness lyondemere.org
Open Lists
There will also be lists open to everyone, whether you wish to compete
for baronial champion or not!
For Armored Combat (Heavy Weapons): For those fighters who feel that
one tournament in a day is not enough, Lyondemere has the answer to your
prayers: Inferno II: The Judgement of Minos. Once again, Sir Dante
and Sir Gareth are sponsoring a Prize Tourney that will take place between
the rounds of the Lyondemere Anniversary Tournament. Inferno will start with
a 14" no-thrusting buckler tourney and continue through as many weapon forms
as can be fit into the day. All tournaments will be fought in the speed-round
format and the winner of the Prize Tourney will be the fighter who scores the
most points by victory in all Inferno Tourneys combined. A limited number of
loaner bucklers will be available but please remember to bring appropriate hand
protection to keep you safe and legal. Load up your various weapons and prepare
to meet your doom—only one will survive the Judgement of Minos!
For Rapier: Standard double elimination for the champion. Double
kills count as a loss for both fighters. For the side tourney it will be
2 vs. 2 team tournament.
Youth: Youth are invited to take part in youth combat and
children's activites during the day.
Eric Space Reservations: For eric space, please contact the autocrat
